I’m Will, a Pittsburgh-based DJ, producer, and musician with 16 years of experience behind the decks. I work a full-time job — but my passion has always been electronic music.
SoundSource was born from a simple frustration: club-standard equipment is extremely expensive to purchase and nearly impossible to rent. Most DJs end up practicing on gear that falls short of the real thing.
Soundsource changes that by allowing DJs at any level to book time, walk in, and get their hands on the same gear used at the world’s top venues — all without gatekeeping, judgment, or breaking the bank.
My hope is that this space becomes a springboard for local artists and a catalyst for Pittsburgh’s electronic music community to grow, collaborate, and level up.

We’re actively building out the details and scouting the right location to bring SoundSource to life. Right now, we’re building a list of interested DJs and producers to help shape the space. If you’re interested, join the waitlist. Your support and input will help us get there faster.

Once we launch, you’ll be able to book online in just a few clicks. Sessions will be available 24 hours a day, in flexible blocks of up to 5 hours. No back-and-forth emails, no weird hours — just smooth, on-demand access to the gear you love. Whether you're planning for a big gig or squeezing in a 2am practice session, we’ll be ready for you.
-
Absolutely. Whether you’re just starting out or you’re a seasoned club DJ, this space is for everyone. It’s judgment-free, stress-free, and made for learning.
-
SoundSource is designed to be fully self-service — but we’ll provide helpful guides, videos, and gear walk-throughs so you can show up and get spinning right away.

The easiest way is to bring a USB stick loaded with your tracks, prepped using Rekordbox — Pioneer’s free music management software. Rekordbox lets you analyze your tracks, set hot cues and loops, and organize playlists so they load instantly on the CDJ-3000 players.
Here’s what we recommend:
Use a USB 3.0 stick (FAT32 formatted)
Prepare your music in Rekordbox Export Mode
Organize by playlists or genre folders
Label your USB clearly and back it up!
Don't have your own music yet? No problem — the studio will have a shared multi-genre music library available right on the decks. From tech house to hip hop to drum & bass, you’ll be able to jump in and start mixing, experimenting, or learning — no USB required.

You’re welcome to bring one guest with you per session for a nominal fee. This helps us keep the studio secure and clean while still allowing for collaboration or support. Whether it’s a friend, photographer, or someone learning alongside you, we’re all for it.
Please note:
Maximum of one guest per session
No parties or group gatherings
The registered renter is responsible for guest conduct and any damage
Need to bring more than one person for something special — like a B2B session, recording crew, or creative shoot? Reach out ahead of time. We’re happy to work with you when accommodations make sense.

Yes — like most studios, SoundSource has basic security cameras in place to help protect the space, the gear, and everyone who uses it. Cameras are placed in general areas (not pointed at the gear itself) and are there to make sure things stay safe.
When you book a session, you’ll have private access to the studio only during your reserved time. The gear will automatically shut off when your session ends, and the door will lock until the next booking begins.
This setup helps keep the studio running smoothly for everyone. If damage or misuse occurs, we'll be able to review footage and follow up as needed — but our goal is to keep things simple, low-key, and focused on the music.
